Watched 'Pitch Perfect' last night with the boys after enjoying it ourselves the previous evening. So grateful for my children's innocence and inability to understand the 'jokes'.
I'd never have thought A Capella with dance was so viewable. Having sung all sorts of music over the years, I know how difficult it is to do what is executed so slickly and energetically. Indeed, you have to suspend belief to accept that all the musical groups can pick up a song perfectly in tune with no practice first. All the singing is clearly undertaken in the clean studio and then added later.
The storyline is no great shakes, but the music routines are incredible and worth the DVD rental fee alone. For those of us who lived through the music of the '80s, it also has a great Scottish Megaband climax/payoff to boot.
This appears to have gone down well enough with the masses since Pitch Perfect 2 is seemingly in the wings...
